Sky Sports visit the 825m London and Essex Go Kart Circuit

On Tuesday 7th November Brentwood Karting welcomed the return of former Cadet Club member Scott Malvern, now racing in the Super One Kart Championship, and former National Karting Champion Ben Cruttendon, to the circuit. The pair showed off their racing skills for a feature on renowned Sky Sports show Soccer AM Allsports. Equipped with helmet cams and microphones the drivers found themselves in the spotlight for the day, giving driving instructions and explaining correct racing lines and overtaking opportunities on the circuit. The feature is being used to show what skills a budding race driver has to learn and shows the route in which to take, starting from your local Cadet Club, all the way to international stardom! This feature is to be aired shortly so please visit this post for regular updates.
Manager Chris Waterhouse comments, “This is definitely a step in the right direction for the karting industry; the future of motorsport is dependant on the younger drivers learning their skills at a kart circuit and then progressing from there. The coverage is also excellent for the circuit, and it’s really an honour for Sky to have chosen us for the piece. We have come a long way since February 2005 when the complex was totally revamped. The circuit went from 250m to 825m and we have vastly improved the facilities we have to offer. The fact that it is being aired at such a prime-time slot is fantastic and will hopefully let even more people know what a great track we have here”.
